Bruno Charron Wood Carving
Bruno Charron's carvings have established themselves as a central part of the Purbeck art scene.
He uses a number of types of wood, mainly yew, spalted beech and vinegared oak. If you would like a design in a different wood from the one we illustrate please contact us.
He says of his work:
"I collect all my wood from local trees that have fallen as a result of old age or gales, or from tree surgeons that would otherwise waste this beautiful natural resource.I also sometimes make use of driftwood and railway sleepers. The wood is air dried at home for several years until "fit" to carve. With a combination of bandsaw, angle grinder and disc sander; I am able to produce beautiful, exceedingly smooth sculptures at affordable prices. Some pieces may have slight shakes (cracks) or bark showing which is part of the excitement of using real wood! Each piece is a unique work of art finished with oil and natural beeswax. Much of my work has found its way worldwide.
The carvings are an ideal gift for bird and nature lovers alike or whoever appreciates something truly beautiful.
Prices range from £55 upwards. The price of a particular design varies slightly depending on the exact size and wood used. Please contact us for a price for a carving currently in stock.
